Dog Licenses

Dog licenses are only good for one year and expire on December 31 of each year.  After March 31, a late fee will be assessed to each dog and municipal citation.

Dogs six months of age and older shall be vaccinated against rabies and must be licensed.  You must bring proof of rabies vaccination and veterinarian information when you license your dog. 

Dog License Fees: 

  • Neutered / spayed: $20.00/dog
  • Unneutered / unspayed: $25.00/dog
  • Late Fees: $5.00 / dog-one time fee

Payment by check or cash may be dropped off at the Village Hall. Please use the drop box at the main entrance after hours. 

Any person having in their possession or ownership any animal or fowl shall not allow them to run at large in the Village.  Owners are to keep their animal from interfering with the passing public or neighbors.  Please take responsibility and watch your animal. 

Municipal Ordinance Limits Number of Dogs:

No family shall own, harbor or keep in its possession more than three (3) dogs in any residential unit, except that a litter of pups or portion of a litter may be kept for not more than eight (8) weeks from birth.  (Municipal Code 7-4-16)

Please Note:  The Village of Marshall does not license cats.
