Municipal Court
Welcome to the Village of Marshall Municipal Court. The Marshall Municipal Court handles all non-criminal traffic citations and municipal ordinance violations issued to adults and juveniles by the Marshall Police Department. The Municipal Court is an independent branch of local government, separate from the police department and village government.
The Court recognizes that appearing in court can be stressful, so we strive to make the process as straightforward and understandable as possible. Court staff is here to help guide you through court procedures while maintaining the highest standards of judicial integrity. The Municipal Judge and Court Clerk will try to answer all questions regarding your citation, but cannot give legal advice. If you need legal advice, you should consult an attorney.
Our Mission
The mission of the Municipal Court is to provide accessible, efficient, and impartial justice while upholding the laws that keep our community safe and orderly. Through the fair and consistent application of municipal ordinances, with emphasis on education and understanding rather than purely punitive measures, the Court’s goal is to promote public safety while maintaining the quality of life that makes Marshall a wonderful place to live.
