Tax Information

Once the tax bills are generated property owners can find out how much their tax bill is by going to Dane County's Access Dane.

The following is information for 2023 tax bills payable in 2024

  • The due date to pay in full or to pay the 1st installment is 1/31/24. Payments are payable to the Village of Marshall Treasurer.
  • Second installment payments are due on or before 7/31/24 and are payable to the Dane County Treasurer.
  • If the appropriate amounts due are not paid by January 31, 2024, using either method, the entire amount remaining unpaid becomes delinquent and bears interest at the rate of 1.5% per month as of February 1, 2024.
  • Personal property taxes not paid in full by January 31, 2024, will be considered delinquent as of February 1, 2024, and will bear interest at the rate of 1% per month.
  • All tax payments postmarked on or before December 31, 2023, will be recorded as paid in 2023. Postmarked payments must be received by the Village Treasurer within five (5) days after December 31, 2023, to be considered timely for 2023.
  • All tax payments received by walk-in or by use of the drop box on or before 7:30 a.m., January 3, 2024, will be recorded as paid in 2023. Any payments after this time will be recorded as 2023 payments.
  • No tax bills will be mailed to lending institutions. All original bills are mailed to the last-known property owner. If your lending institution needs a copy of the bill, you will need to send them one.

Mobile Home Owners:
Your monthly parking permit fee (tax) should be added to your lot rent and paid to Evergreen Village.


Lottery Credit:
Eligible Wisconsin homeowners can receive a lottery credit. Marshall’s maximum lottery credit is $281.43 for 2023.

To be eligible for the credit, you must have owned your home on January 1, 2023, and used the property as your primary residence.

If you did not receive a lottery credit on your tax bill or mobile home statement, and you feel you are eligible, contact the Village Treasurer’s office at 655-4017, Ext. 3. or Visit Wisconsin Department of Revenue and Search "LC-100"


(Garbage/Recycling fees are billed in advance and placed on the respective property owner's tax bill.)
